FSA-Approved Items for the Whole Family

If your company offers a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), contributing will reduce your taxable income, so you will owe less in payroll taxes. Your money is deducted PRE-tax deductions, so you take home more money than you would normally. Additionally, you will be able to access the full amount of FSA funds immediately. Here is a list of my favorite FSA-approved items on Amazon you can purchase with your pre-tax FSA funds:

Elvie Hands-Free Breast Pump

Nothing says “working mom” like a wearable breast pump so we can keep doing what we need to do, while pumping milk for our little ones. When I was a first-time mom, my newborn stopped breastfeeding at 4 months old. I tried pumping for a while, but I HATED it. Being stuck on the couch, attached to tubes, and worried about spilling on my laptop was awful. My pumping-career didn’t last long and we switched to full-time formula feeding. Although I’ve never used this wireless breast pump, I’ve heard great things from moms in a similar situation. Plus, it’s an FSA-approved item!

Supergoop! PLAY Everyday Lotion, SPF 50

Did you know sunscreen is an FSA-approved item? We have always have at least two of these large 18 oz pumps. We keep one in the back of our car so we always have it when we’re out and about, or when it’s a sunny day dropping kids off at school. The second one is in our mudroom for backyard play or walks around the neighborhood. We love the Supergoop! brand because it’s “reef-friendly, cruelty-free and made with clean ingredients”. The PLAY also comes in normal tubes (perfect to keep in your bag) and spray versions.

Band-Aid Family Pack

Bandaids are currently an obsession with our youngest child right now. Any ouchie is immediately fixed with a bandaid – even if there’s no actual sign of blood, bandaids always save the day. We love this family pack that includes various sizes, and both neutral and fun character styles. With the amount we are going through each day, it is SO nice that bandaids are an FSA-approved item.

Braun No-Touch Forehead Thermometer

No-touch thermometer have been so essential with little ones. When they’re sick, we’re able to monitor their temperature while they sleep throughout the night. This one is perfectly small enough to bring in on trips.

After earning my Masters in Education, I started working in education technology and most recently found myself at a publishing company. I started working from home after the birth of our first child seven years ago. We now have three kids, ages 7, 4, and 2.
